Make a Wall Key Holder for Father’s Day

Posted on 24 May 2009 by admin

When father’s day came around last year my kids decided that they wanted to make him a wall key holder for father’s day. I admit that I am not the handiest person in the world, but I thought that this was probably a project that I could handle very well, especially since our local home improvement store was willing to cut all of the wood for me at their warehouse so that I would not have to purchase any saws or other special equipment. The person who helped me by cutting the wood also told me the best way to construct the frame, etc. to make the process simple.

Needless to say, it was tougher than I thought simply because I decided to take a hands off approach and let the kids try to build it for themselves (I wanted to jump in and help but it was their project). Thy bought hinges and made a swinging door for the wall key holder and purchased peg board for the back and put hooks into them to hold the keys. Then they painted it in very interesting colors. In the end it was a very funny looking key holder but my husband loved it and the kids were proud of their project.
