My husband and I both do the same thing when we walk into the front door of our home, we place our keys where ever seems convenient at the time and then search around frantically for them every time it is time to leave the house. There are times that I put it in my purse or on top of the fridge (if my hands are full when I come in and I drop the rest of the stuff on the kitchen counter), or on my bookshelf or just drop them in my purse when I get out of the van. I finally decided that it might be time to purchase a wall key holder when I had to hire a locksmith to make new keys for the van and then found my keys in the laundry hamper the next day.

The wall key holder has made a big difference in our home when it comes to leaving. There is no searching for the keys or the kids sitting around rolling their eyes waiting for me or my husband to find the keys to the van so that we can leave. Now we walk to the door, reach out and there they are.
