Working for a company that delivers parts and inventory to other companies means that we have a number of fleet cars for employees to use on their runs. We have a very good system for managing the keys by using a tri fold wall key holder. How this key holder works is that it is mounted on the wall (okay that was obvious) and it has a cover on it that locks so that only myself or the supervisor can get into it. Inside there are three panels on hinges that hold keys on each side, giving us enough room for about 120 keys including the back part, which is not on a hinge.

In order to key a key from the wall key holder an employee has to come to me or the supervisor and request a vehicle and then sign out for it. This allows us to ensure that we know where every vehicle is at all times and if a vehicle is in its parking space but there is no key in the slot, then we know which employee to visit to retrieve the keys (and unfortunately write them e up for not turning in their keys). It is a very efficient system for our office.
